Explore South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe has it all... at least according to Tessie King. Check out some of her favorite spots mentioned in the books, as well as a few hidden local gems.

Heavenly Lake Tahoe Ski Resort

Located just steps away from the Royal Palace Casino, this is the premier ski resort for pros and beginners alike. Whether you're into a hop down the bunny slopes or a fast and furious black diamond run, Heavenly has it all!

Montbleu Casino Resort

While the Royal Palace is obviously Tessie's favorite casino resort in town, the MontBleu is a close second. With an exciting gaming floor, decadent day spa, and top entertainment acts performing nightly, this is one place hot enough to melt away the winter chill.

Tahoe Sports Ltd.

South Lake Tahoe is known as a winter playground, but it's also a summer haven for sports enthusiasts. Whether you're looking to kayak on the lake, try your hand at Stand Up Paddling, or take an extreme biking trek through the mountain trails, Tahoe Sports Ltd. has the gear for you! And when the weather turns snowy, they've got you covered with every kind of ski or boarding rental you need.

Vikingsholm

For architecture buffs, the historic Vikingsholm Castle is located in Emerald Bay State Park. The 38 room mansion is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the U.S. The home has been preserved and features nods to the South lake Tahoe history from the times of the earliest native inhabitants.

The Cantina Bar & Grill

After a long day on the slopes, what's better than a hot, fresh meal? Maybe one with a margarita on the side. :) The Cantina Bar & Grill is one of Tessie's favorite restaurants in South Lake, offering spicy Mexican fare with a festive flair
